It's officially summer and with that comes a sudden wave of inspiration when it comes to styling. If you're in the mood for a laid back, "forever on vacation" kind of season, we suggest you match your mindset with your wardrobe. At least on our book, summer is all about feeling free (even if you have to be at the office by 9am everyday this week) and making your daily looks comfortable, effortless and with a touch of femininity.
Here are 5 wardrobe essentials to pull off that summer look:
Nothing screams summer quite like navy and white stripes. They can create a statement while still keeping the styling palate clean and simple. You can feel free to incorporate them into your accessories, pants, and tops.
2. Linen pants
Linen pants are comfortable and they instantly transport you ocean side. You can choose high waisted ones for days at the office or loose ones for summer days at the beach or for a quick stroll. Cream colored linen pants is probably our favorite but you can find white linen, striped linen or any light colored linen to complete the look. Dress them up or down and watch how easily you can transform your day.
3. Raffia Bags
A classic summer wardrobe staple, raffia or straw bags are no longer just used to carry your towels at the beach. You can use them for a night out or on a day to day basis. They come in all sorts of patterns and sizes and we can't help but want them all.
4. Flowy Whites
When it's 100 degrees out, the best you can do is keep your colors light. Having an assortment of flowy, simple white tops, pants or accessories will make the heat a lot more bearable (and your look a lot more stylish and effortless too). They're easy to style and match everything, making this the most essential summer wardrobe piece.
5. Oversized Earrings
For a touch of femininity, finish up your look with oversized earrings. With just this small final step before walking out the door, you're able to elevate your look and make a statement. You can choose to keep them neutral or add a pop of color. You can find many options at Zara, Mango, your local boutiques and even Etsy!
