Mood Stabilizing Chocolate Shake

Our mood can shift in response to life stressors, hormones, situations, arguments, and even a certain food or substance we had earlier in the day. When we're in a slump, our body can quickly present us with cravings. These cravings are our body's way of telling us: something is off. We may often turn to comfort foods such as pizza, fries, ice-cream, alcohol. And while these may satisfy us momentarily, they're likely to make matters worse if we let it become a habit.

When we're in need of a quick pick-me-up, or just something sweet but healthy, we recommend this decadent chocolate shake. It has all the right nutrients, minerals and vitamins to curb that craving and stabilize your mood.

Here's what you'll need:

Ingredients:

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 frozen banana

1 date

1 tbsp chia seeds

2 tbsp organic almond butter

2 tbsp cacao powder

1 pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt

1/2 cup spinach (optional)

Method

Combine ingredients and blend until smooth.
