When we're trying to recover our healthier locks, typically damaged by heating tools, dehydration, hair products, stress, and poor nutrition, we rarely think about how our diet plays a role in natural beauty. We forget how beauty starts from the inside, not just because of how we relate to others or our genuine, kind hearts, but because of the food we're putting into our bodies.

The food we consume has a direct effect on our skin, hair, nails, you name it. Nutrition is the foundation for natural beauty and essential for growing luscious locks.

We listed our top 9 foods for healthy hair and quicker growth below:

1.  Almonds

Almonds contain high amounts of biotin, a vitamin found to promote hair growth. To boost your natural beauty (especially beautiful hair), aim for a handful of almonds a day.

2. Salmon

This type of fish is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids. Omega 3's  keep your scalp healthy, promoting your hair to grow and preventing hair loss. It also contains Vitamin D and protein, two factors that are essential for natural beauty. Instead of buying farm raised salmon fillets, opt for wild salmon instead.

3. Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are loaded with beta-carotene. Beta-carotene is the precursor for vitamin A, an important vitamin for hair growth and scalp. Try to include this side dish in at least one of your weekly meals.

4. Yellow Peppers:

Yellow peppers contain a lot more vitamin C than oranges, making it an essential nutrient dense vegetable for healthy hair. Vitamin C is known to strengthen the hair shaft, follicles and prevent breakage and split ends. To consume yellow peppers, include them in salads and/or your morning scrambled eggs.

5. Eggs:

Eggs contain both omega-3s and biotin (both known to be magical for hair growth). The yolk is what contains the biotin so, to see improvements in your hair,  be sure not to be consuming egg whites alone.

6. Avocados:

The fatty acids in avocados promote healthy hair. You can benefit from them by consuming them in salad, tacos, guacamole or applying them as a hair mask! They stimulate collagen and leave it feeling healthy and strong.

7. Greek Yogurt:

Greek yogurt is loaded with protein as well as vitamin B5. Both protein and vitamin Bs help keep your scalp healthy. Vitamin B5, specifically,  can help prevent hair-loss.

8. Spinach:

Spinach is loaded with beta carotene, iron, folate and vitamin C, all of which are great for long hair. These vitamins not only make your hair grow faster but they also prevent brittle hair, split ends and breakage.

9. Pineapple:

This tropical fruit is full of vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 as well as beta carotene, vitamin c, folic acid, and manganese. All of these vitamins make it an excellent (natural) supplement for healthy hair. Include pineapple in your smoothies for rapid hear growth and to promote healthier locks!
